Congratulations to Courage Teoh & Valor Teoh for winning 1st Prize with High Distinction in the Piano Four-Hands Chamber Ensemble category at the Cheer Taiwan International Music Competition 2026.
Piano four-hands performance requires not only technical skill, but also strong musical communication and teamwork. Their excellent coordination and musical expression on stage were highly recognized by the judges.

10 years of participating in the 27th Tainan International Music Competition, and this year marks a milestone moment: 1st Prize across all categories—from Primary 1 to Secondary - among 200 cellists 

More than the results, we celebrate the journey, the learning, and remain deeply grateful for a platform that continues to shape and inspire our young musicians.

A lovely March music journey to Taiwan.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this well organised Tainan competition by Dr. Marshall Shen and to see how this platform has continued to grow over the years.

It was inspiring to meet and work alongside many respected professors and fellow musicians, as well as new friends from around the world.

Always meaningful to witness so many young talents sharing their passion for music- something we are truly proud of. 

I also managed to take a little time to explore Tainan, enjoying the atmosphere and some wonderful Tainan food.

In March, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Tainan, Taiwan, together with musicians and students from the Singapore Raffles Music Association for a meaningful musical exchange. 

It was truly an honour to be warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Tainan and to witness how music continues to connect people across cultures and borders.

We were also glad to take part in the Cheers Tainan Music Competition where we met many respected Taiwan masters, musicians and educators, and even saw familiar faces — participants who had previously joined us at SRIMF in Singapore.

These moments remind us that music is a shared language, and that meaningful connections can grow across countries through education and performance.

We look forward to strengthening the ties between Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and the region, and to creating more opportunities for young musicians to learn, perform, and grow on an international platform. 
三月份，是一个充满活力与交流的季节。

我们代表新加坡莱佛士音乐家协会， 带领老师与学生前往台湾台南，与当地及来自马来西亚的音乐家们相聚交流，共同参与一场充满音乐与文化的旅程。

非常荣幸在活动中受到台南市市长， 台南主办方沈理事长的热情接待，也深深感受到音乐作为一种“无国界的语言”，让不同背景的年轻音乐人能够相互连接、彼此启发。

在大台南音乐活动中，我们不仅见到了许多受人尊敬的台湾音乐教育家与评审，也再次与曾参与新加坡 SRIMF 比赛的评审老师相聚，
并看到了莱佛士的参赛选手再次站上舞台。
这种跨国之间的音乐延续与相遇，让人倍感欣喜与感动。

自2015年以来，我们与大台南的音乐交流持续深化。未来也期待新加坡与台湾之间，能够建立更多音乐教育与文化交流的平台，让更多年轻音乐人拥有更广阔的国际舞台。

Earlier this March, 
I had a great time having adjudicated an international music competition in Tainan. And I witnessed many young talents sharing their passion for music. 
It was a blessings to hear so many rising young pianists!

I was grateful to have the opportunity to meet and work alonside many respected professors and greet fellow musicians from around the world. 

Also I finally visited the famous Chimei Museum where they collect many fine and rarely-seen musical instruments located in Tainan, Taiwan. 

Many thanks to Dr. Marshall Shen’s invitation and his warm hospitality to host this well-known and well-organised international music competition for 27 years!
